Trying on bridal gowns is one of the most fun parts of planning your wedding! These tips will help you make your bridal gown shopping experience both productive and enjoyable.
Don't Wear Makeup
You're going to be trying on dresses that cost hundreds or thousands of dollars, and makeup can only leave stains on the lining. Not only will that be embarrassing when it happens, but you could spend a lot of time twisting your body in all sorts of uncomfortable positions trying to prevent the problem from occurring. To avoid this problem, don't wear makeup to try on your wedding gown.
Wear the Right Clothes and Shoes
Wear something to the bridal shop that's easy to take off and put back on. Be sure to wear a nude colored bra and nude colored underwear so you'll be able to see how the dress looks over your body. Wear high-heeled shoes of approximately the same height as what you plan to wear to the wedding.
Make an Appointment
Many stores only serve customers who make appointments, so remember to call ahead of time and make an appointment with the stores where you plan to shop. If there's a particular dress that you'd like to try on, ask the stores with that designer whether or not they carry that particular type of dress. If they don't, they might be able to order it for you before your appointment.
Know What Types of Dresses Interest You
The attendant at the bridal shop will select dresses for you to try on based on the type of dress that interests you most. Whether you're interested in traditional or contemporary, fun or romantic, have an idea in mind before you get started with the shopping.
Bring a Couple Friends and a Camera
You could end up trying on a dozen or two dresses in just one day, but after a while you'll forget what individual dresses looked like and which ones you liked best. Bring a friend with a camera who can take pictures of you in each gown. This will help you recall which ones were your favorites and which ones were a pass.
With just a little extra thought and planning, you should be ready to get started shopping. For more information about how to get ready for the shopping experience and your big day, speak with a bridal shop like Bridal Elegance.Share
